The Microchurch Conference

Hey friends of 100Movements, we don’t want this space to just be about announcements, but it’s going to happen sometimes. And today, we want to point your attention to The Microchurch Conference, which will be held in Tampa in March.
The Microchurch Conference only happens once every two years. This will be the third gathering of those pursuing the smaller way and it’s really designed to feel more like a family gathering, even if everyone hasn’t met yet.
Over the past several years, we’ve watched a growing number of networks experiment with forms of community that don’t fit easily inside inherited church structures. Ordinary people are being commissioned and sent. Disciple-making is being owned in everyday life. Spiritual families are forming around shared mission. The language, practices, and structures vary widely from place to place, but the underlying impulse is consistent. It’s driven by a deep conviction that the way of Jesus is still taking root in every corner of culture, seeing the Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.
We’re hearing about microchurches multiplying inside prisons with communities shaped by prayer and repentance. High school students describe leading microchurches as they learn to disciple their peers and take real spiritual responsibility long before anyone would consider them “ready.” Microchurches are being planted among the unhoused, within senior living centers, across apartment complexes, neighborhoods, and workplaces.
This conference is about creating space for people who are already experimenting at the edges of movemental Christianity to find one another, share stories, pray together, and remember that they are not alone. It is a chance to strengthen relationships, deepen imagination, and recover courage for a journey that can sometimes feel isolating, especially when the path you’re on doesn’t resemble the church you inherited.
